Kauai..

Huumm..what can I say about this island? Well, Kauai is called the Garden Island. It is rightfully named because it is the most beautiful of all the islands. It's got beautiful and breathtaking panorama of all you can see. Like the Waimea canyon. The wet and dry caves in Hanalei. Or climbing the Kalalau trial and seeing the beauty from way up there. Can't forget now, to go and take a tour up to the Wailua River and see the Grottos there. One year we were fortunate enough to see a wedding ceremony being taken place. And it was just an experience to be there. When the musicians started to play and sing, the music would bounce off the walls of the grotto and it sounded like amplified speakers *s*. It was beautiful. Going up to the Wailua River is a beautiful experience as well. There are many sacred temples or heiaus along the shoreline going up the river. There is also a stonebell, which rang when there was a royal birth. They also have a hanau birthing place where the royalty females would go and give birth. Mount Waialeale is the wettest spot in all the world. The waters cascades down like waterfalls and ends up in the river. So a must see place, when u visit. There is also a mountain range, which you will have to look real good *s*, to see the shape of a sleeping giant. It is there *s*, I have seen it. He's eyelashes are actually palm trees swaying. I always remember that when I go and visit *s*.

The swinging bridge, and the Menehune (little people), Fishpond can also be seen. Legend has it, that the Menehunes could build and erect something in one night. Before the rooster with there wake up call in the morning *s*, the menehunes would have completed their task. And the only payment they would want would be shrimp and poi *s*. Uumm yummy hahaha....But, this place called the Menehune Fishpond did not actually get completed *s*. Legend has it again, that there was this rooster who wanted to play tricks on them. By crowing way to early then it was supposed to hahaha...so, the menehunes thought it was time for them to leave their work. And they did. Never going back to finish it. It still stands till today.

The Waimea canyon, is a place that one can only dream of seeing. I just fell in love with the beautiful and magnificent panorama of it all *s*. The elevation was hig and the air very thin. But, you must go and see the little grand canyon *s*. It's nicknamed after the big grand canyon *s*. The lush foliage, beautiful waterfalls, sooo picture perfect *s*. I really enjoyed myself when I went there with my family.

Not to mention the horseback riding, the swims in the beautiful ocean blue, hotels and restaurants galore. Kauai has been thru some tough times. Weather conditions, like the Iniki Hurricane that flattened everything that could be flattened and left many people homeless. I remember my hubby Bob going there, as one of the workforce to start and rebuild all over again. But, it is such a beautiful place to visit. I encourage u to go hahaha...Don't know what you are missing. Aloha
